American Cities

The Commander of the American Naval Air Station in Sigonella, Aaron Shoemaker, with a delegation of Sailors accompanied by the public relations manager Alberto Lunetta were guests of The Embassy of Farm.
On this occasion, a new collaboration was announced which will involve U.S. Consulate General Naples, NAS Sigonella in Catania, Farm Cultural Park, the Municipality of Mazzarino and I.I.S.S. Carlo Maria Carafa for the cultural and linguistic volunteer project which will be called American Cities.
Taking inspiration from Countless Cities, the Biennial of the Cities of the World organized by Farm Cultural Park and in 2023 at the third edition, Farm will host at its institutional headquarters in Mazzarino and Favara, at the I.I.S.S. Carlo Maria Carafa or at educational institutes throughout Sicily, young American soldiers who will give small 15-minute lectures in which they will tell with photos and videos, as well as who they are and what they do, where they come from, their hometown, the history , demography, its main attractions, culture and traditions of their cities.
American Cities aims not only to promote knowledge of the United States, its small, medium and large cities and to promote knowledge of the American language but also to consolidate friendships between American citizens and Italian citizens.

Are you wondering how this was possible?
It is certainly partly a small miracle.
In part, all this is possible thanks to the generosity and sensitivity of small but wonderful communities of special people who, from Asti to Favara, decide to dedicate time and energy to give the girls and boys of their territories a special opportunity.
A little like the Scouts to give you a role model.

Farm guest of Festival de la Ville sauvage.

“The wild city festival creates some commonality in a society in need, it launches bridges by provoking encounters, gives voice to those who are rarely heard, tackles the subject of the city in complete freedom to reinvent it. The wild city festival is a generous contribution, an important initiative for architecture, urbanity, solidarity, humanity. It is in Marseille, its flavors are subtle. They are familiar to me. For all these reasons and many more, I support the wild city festival.” Emmanuel Launiau, President of the QUARTUS group
