I’m Erika Cancilleri, a law student at Luiss University with a strong interest in human and social sciences. I aspire to pursue a career in diplomacy or international relations, where I can engage with global challenges and cross-cultural dialogue. Having attended a German-Italian school and followed a globally focused curriculum, I have developed strong language skills and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, which continue to shape both my academic journey and professional ambitions.

Avendo frequentato una scuola italo-tedesca e seguito un percorso di studi orientato a una prospettiva globale, ho sviluppato solide competenze linguistiche e una profonda sensibilità verso la diversità culturale, che continuano a guidare sia il mio percorso accademico sia le mie aspirazioni professionali.
Which city has changed you — and why?
San Luis Obispo is the city that changed me the most. During my exchange year there, I learned how to rely on myself in a completely new environment and culture. It pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, improve my language skills, and develop strong problem-solving abilities while adapting to unfamiliar situations.
What kind of city do you dream of for the future?
I dream of a city where the sea and nature coexist with technological progress, creating a balance between innovation and sustainability. A city that prioritizes human well-being, where people feel energized, connected, and free to express themselves. An inclusive environment where diversity is valued and quality of life is at the center of urban development.
How will you help transform cities?
I see myself contributing to the transformation of cities through a career in diplomacy and international relations, helping shape policies that promote inclusive, sustainable urban development.
